Fall-proof the home

Medicine safety

  • Keep one updated list of all medicines and doses
  • Use a weekly pill box and fixed daily times
  • Never double a missed dose — ask the doctor or PHC
  • Take all medicine boxes to every doctor visit

Warning signs — act fast

  • Sudden confusion, face droop or slurred speech (stroke)
  • Chest pain or sudden breathlessness
  • A fall with injury, or unable to get up
  • High fever with drowsiness
  • Sudden severe weakness or fainting

If this is an emergency, do not wait.

For caregivers

  • Watch for low mood, withdrawal or loneliness — talk and involve them
  • Encourage gentle daily movement and time outdoors
  • Keep emergency numbers and the medicine list on the fridge or wall
  • Look after your own rest — caregiver burnout is real
